JW Marriott Hotel – Bangkok, Thailand Review

JW Marriott Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand

Great location, newly renovated rooms, nice lobby.

The JW Marriott Bangkok is your typical capital city Marriott hotel. A great location with a grand lobby to welcome you into modern rooms and high-quality food in the restaurants and bars.

Getting from the airport to the hotel took about 45 minutes in mid-afternoon traffic. You can use Grab (no Uber) as the rideshare platform of choice to book a car. But be aware that the pickup area is quite confusing for the drivers, so it’s best to take a photo of where you are standing and send it to them.

Once at the hotel, check-in was as you would expect for a Marriott — quick and easy. I headed up to my room, which has I believe was newly renovated, and awaited my bags which were promptly delivered. As mentioned, the room was nice and modern with a view across Bangkok. The bathroom has both a tub, which I didn’t use, and a nice powerful shower that I gladly would have stayed in for a lot longer had I the time.

The area is very close to the BTS, and also walking distance to many bars and restaurants. It really is the are to be if you are with friends or like the bar scene with your partner. There is a nice mixture of local food options alongside the more well-known Western chains, such as Starbucks and the like.

Check-out was also swift, but it was a little more difficult to get back to the airport than it was to get from it but was still done in about 1 hour.

If you have stayed at any flagship Marriott in any capital city, then you will know what to expect, and the Marriott Bangkok doesn’t disappoint.
